The Health and Social Care Act 2008: The Code for the Prevention and Control of infections and related guidance (2015), obliges health care organisations to provide high standards of infection control. Registered providers must assure themselves, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC), that they comply with all standards as laid down in ‘the Code’.
